In Nostalgicar, not all cars are Chevys.
One of our prized possessions is a '57 Buick convertible named Helena. She has a bold personality and boasts a Mercedes Benz 5-cylinder diesel engine, making her stand out from the rest of our fleet with her striking yellow and black colors.
This dream was made possible through the efforts of Julio, who initially purchased a Buick seven years ago, but struggled to find parts for restoration due to its poor condition. He eventually acquired a hard top in better condition, although it was not exactly what he wanted. Unfortunately, restoration had to be put on hold due to various reasons, including the pandemic.
However, after seven long years, the pieces of both cars were combined to create Helena - named after the grandmother of a dear friend of Nidialys. The elderly woman lived an incredible 101 years! We hope that our beloved Buick will have a similarly long lifespan.
While Helena may not be the only car in our garage, she is undoubtedly one of the most powerful and resilient members.
