Benito

We call him Benito, in memory of Julio's father. He's our 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air, with his original straight-6 235 ci (3,9 L) engine.

In 2015 we had all the Chevrolet models from 1955 to 1960 except for a 1958. We purchased Benito from a flower farmer in San Antonio de los Baños, in the ourskirts of Havana. We restored him true to the original design, with Madonna blue paint.

As you can see, for 1958 Chevrolet models were redesigned longer, lower, and heavier than their 1957 predecessors, warming up for what was coming in 1959...
