When we got her in 2011, she was black as a moonless night, as mat as an asphalt road, and rusty. She had been inactive for more than ten years. The engine didn't work, seats were broken, and both mechanics and bodywork were in a bad state. She would have been given up in every country, worth at most her weight in scrap.
Yet Julio saw the beauty of this heavily neglected Bel Air from 1956. Many months of dedication later, she was reborn, revived. The typical Chevrolet gadgets, upholstery, everything carefully restored, a meticulous remake of the original.
Once an ugly duck, she turned into a graceful pink swan, our own pink panther and we called her Lola.
Lola is a feast for the eyes and a favorite of many. Especially honeymooners, romantics, LGBT+ love her gala appearance.
Lola is an extravaganza, but she does not discriminate. She loves everyone who wants to enjoy this beautiful country and its hallucinating capitol with her.
